Launch art for a global pre-order campaign
1000 Days of Love is Soundarya Balasubramani's first novel & third book, five years and five drafts in the making, with more than 12,000 people on the waitlist before pre-orders opened. The book already had a beautiful brand living on 1000daysoflove.com, warm cream, one confident red, editorial serif.

1000 Days of Love opens for global pre-orders on August 16, 2026, with a two-hour launch event on Zoom. Registration runs through a Luma page, which needed a hero image at the top, a visual showing what pre-order backers receive, and a panel introducing the four speakers.

The brand guide was already there. Cream background, that red, the serif, and a cover that's basically a red block with the title set enormous. Nothing needed inventing. I mostly had to not get in its way.
For the hero I made a few versions. Full watercolor florals, a lighter one, a flat illustrated one, and one with no flowers at all. I liked the plain one because the cover is confident enough on its own, and said so. They picked a floral version, which is the right call for a launch party page where you want warmth more than restraint. That's the one that's live.
The rewards image is four cards with a one-line description under each. The journal and the launch party ticket don't exist as physical things yet, so I mocked them up.
On the speakers image, each person gets their topic in italics under their name. The job title tells you who's speaking. The topic is what makes you show up.
One small thing I'm glad I checked: the brief had the subtitle as "A story of love, but not a love story," but the website leads with "A story about love. Just not the kind you're expecting." Used the site's version, because a poster is a bad place for a second variation of the book's main line.
Small job. Good brand to work inside, and a book I actually love. Fun one.
